These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on CompPanel Community. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

All CompPanel Community Boards
A CompPanel Community moderator from InfraBuild will review comments posted to ensure that they are appropriate and relevant to the thread – however InfaraBuild does not guarantee that all posts will be reviewed. Community members are encouraged to bring to the moderator’s attention any posts that they believe do not meet the Community rules so that they can be dealt with expeditiously. The moderator will have the right edit, move or delete any post to ensure that all posts meet our Community rules.
1. All local laws shall be observed – eg defamation and copyright laws
It is the individual Community member’s responsibility to ensure that their posts do not violate any laws that may be applicable. These include but are not limited to: personal and defamatory attacks; offensive or indecent posts; infringement of intellectual property rights, including copyright and incitement to commit an unlawful act.
Always remember that we maintain the right to remove posts and we reserve the right to permanently deactivate the accounts of users who breach our community rules.
We need to make sure that material posted in the discussion forums is not potentially harmful. For this reason, we may edit or choose not to publish any post, avatar or display name that:
• contains disrespectful or derogatory remarks about any other member
• contains advice or content that we believe is damaging, unhelpful or distressing to others
• contains links
• contains swearing or offensive language
• is nonsensical and/or irrelevant
• promotes personal beliefs in a way that is disrespectful of the choices of others
• infringes the privacy of individuals or service providers
• is racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit or suggestive, abusive or otherwise discriminatory or objectionable
Please report abuse if you see it. A strong online community is self-governing. If you see abuse, report it to us using the ‘Contact us’ button on the forums.
2. No personal details to be disclosed in the posts
While all Community members are registered, InfraBuild keeps their details safe and private. Community members will only be identified by their Community name and are discouraged from posting personally identifiable information. Members may be contacted via email by the moderator if there are concerns that they are breaching the Community rules.
We have this rule because we want to keep this digital space safe. Remember that the forums are public places. Don't post personal information that you would not be comfortable sharing with a stranger. We recommend you use only your first name or a pseudonym in your username and that you don't post any information that may identify you or anyone else, such as your address, email address or phone number.
3. Relevant content
To ensure that Community members can access support quickly we expect that all posts will be relevant to the original thread. The moderator will make the ultimate decision on this and may move or delete a post based on relevance.
4. Do not post repetitive messages
Repetitive posts to push a point is not viewed as necessary or acceptable. The moderator may decide to delete a post if it is viewed, in the moderator’s opinion as repetitive.
5. Post shall not be for commercial purposes
The CompPanel Community is designed to support each member’s use of CompPanel and is not designed for the commercial gains of third parties. Posts, including those with links to websites, that the moderator deems to be commercial in nature may be edited or removed.
6. All posts shall be in English in a conversational tone.
Shouting (text in all caps) may be removed or edited by the moderator. All comments should be clear and written so that they are not easily misinterpreted. Sarcasm and humor are discouraged as these sorts of comments are easily misunderstood.
In other words:
• Keep it friendly. Welcome new members, share your tips or show them how to use the website. If you are a new member, make sure to introduce yourself – our community is waiting for you.
• Be courteous and respectful. Appreciate that others may have an opinion different from yours.
7. The Community platform is primarily run by the Community for all CompPanel users
We encourage members to give kudos to helpful and/or insightful posts from other members to recognise their contribution to the Community. Members should report to the moderator, for assessment, any post they feel is an abuse of these rules. Ultimately this is your Community and it will continue to grow and improve if all members follow these rules.
Share your knowledge. Don't hold back in sharing your knowledge – it's likely someone will find it useful or interesting. When you give information or links, provide your sources.
8. Community members are ultimately responsible for the information posted
The platform is for the CompPanel Community and it is the responsibility of each Community member to post comments and act on comments after careful thought and exercising of appropriate judgment. Users of the information contained in the Forum agree that InfraBuild cannot be responsible for the accuracy of the information.
