The discussion boards available to the CompPanel Community are each owned and facilitated by OneSteel Trading Limited (ABN 50 007 519 646) (“we”, “us” and “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we protect and manage your personal information and comply with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act).
The Privacy Act defines personal information as information or an opinion about you where your identity is clearly or reasonably apparent, whether or not that information is recorded in a material form.
By accessing the CompPanel Community or otherwise dealing with us, including by providing your personal information to us, you:
• consent to the collection, storage, disclosure, use and transfer of your personal information as described this policy; and
• agree to be bound by the prevailing privacy policy appearing on this forum.
When you voluntarily disclose personally identifiable information on a discussion board, that information may be collected, correlated and used by third parties, which is outside our control.

We collect personal information from you when you browse and post on the CompPanel Community, for example if you add a signature to a post. In some instance you will need to register in order to join a discussion board. If your username contains personally identifiable information it will be covered by this policy.
2. Anonymity
You may choose to remain anonymous by not registering and providing your personal information to us. In such circumstances, you may not be able to access all of the discussion boards.
3. Purposes for storage, use and disclosure of personal information
We will hold, use and disclose personal information about you only for the primary purposes for which we have collected it and related purposes as noted in item 1 above.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties, such as IT service providers. These services may be provided by third parties located in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan, United Kingdom or other countries. Your personal information may be disclosed to third parties transacting with us in relation to our assets or businesses under an undertaking of confidentiality.
Where you agree to this Privacy Policy you consent to disclosure of your personal information outside Australia and acknowledge and agree that: (a) privacy obligations overseas may not always apply or may differ from Australian privacy laws; (b) we may not be accountable under the Privacy Act for the overseas recipient’s storage, use or disclosure of the information; (c) you may not be able to seek redress under the Privacy Act for that disclosure or for the acts or omissions of the overseas recipient of the information; and (d) the overseas recipient of the information may be subject to foreign laws which might compel further disclosures of personal information (e.g. to government authorities).

Cookies are electronic files that allow our system to identify and interact more effectively with your device and software. Cookies are created when you browse the CompPanel Community. Cookies help us to maintain the continuity of your browsing session and monitor which topics have been read, in order to improve your user experience. You are able to delete some cookies using the option on the bottom right of your screen. You can also configure your browser software to reject cookies however some parts of the platform may not have full functionality in that case.
6. Access, correction and further queries
If you wish to find out more about our information handling practices, raise any privacy concerns or you wish to view or request amendment of your personal information, you may contact our Board Administrator using the Contact Us button which is available on each page. We may need to verify your identity. In the case of access and correction requests, please provide as much detail as you can about the particular information you seek, in order to help us locate it. We take your privacy concerns very seriously. Where you express any concern that we have interfered with your privacy, we will respond to let you know who will be handling your matter and when you can expect a further response.
7. Notification of changes
This Privacy Policy will be amended and updated from time to time. You will be notified of any changes to this Policy by an announcement on our website. The date on the bottom of this page indicates when this Policy was last updated.
8. Technical Information about how your information is collected via Cookies
Your information is collected via two methods. Firstly, by browsing “CompPanel Community” which will cause the phpBB software to create a number of cookies, which are small text files that are downloaded on to your computer’s web browser temporary files. The first two cookies contain a user identifier (hereinafter “user-id”) and an anonymous session identifier (hereinafter “session-id”), automatically assigned to you by the phpBB software. A third cookie will be created once you have browsed topics within “CompPanel Community” and that one is used to store information such as which topics have been read which improves your user experience.
Cookies may also be created externally to the phpBB software while browsing.
Your account will, as a bare minimum, contain a uniquely identifiable name (hereinafter “your user name”), a personal password used for logging in to your account (hereinafter “your password) and a personal, valid email address (hereinafter “your email”). Any information beyond your user name, your password and your email address required by “CompPanel Community” during the registration process is either mandatory of optional, at the discretion of “CompPanel Community”. In all cases, you have the option of what information in your account is publicly displayed. Furthermore, within your account you have the option to opt-in or opt-out of automatically generated emails from the phpBB software.
9. Technical Information about your password protection
Your password is ciphered (a one-way hash) so that it is secured. However, it is recommended that you do not reuse the same password across a number of different websites. Your password is the means of accessing your account at “CompPanel Community” so please guard it carefully and under no circumstances will anyone affiliated with “CompPanel Community”, phpBB or another third party, legitimately ask you for your password. Should you forget your password for your account, you can use the “I forgot my password” feature provided by the phpBB software. This process will ask you to submit your user name and your email, then the phpBB software will generate a new password to enable you to reclaim your account.
